Mini Documentary Highlights Microplastic Research on Marine Ecosystems

Editor's note: Researchers with the MBL's Oceanic Flux Program (OFP) joined members of the Plastics Ocean Project aboard the R/V Atlantic Explorer on a 2024 scientific expedition. Together, scientists investigated the threat of microplastics on marine ecosystems, as showcased in this short film by University of North Carolina-Wilmington undergraduate Ashley Reep. The OFP, based at the MBL Ecosystems Center, conducts ongoing research on particles in the deep ocean.
